The search field in the explorer bar allows you to narrow the display results to the entered string. Additionally, above the search field, after selecting an object from the list, you will see the crosshair button, which when pressed will direct the view to the object if it is in the open diagram. In the case of a complex database, this feature is extremely helpful.
